Why You Need to Exfoliate Before & After Waxing

In the modern world of personal care, there are a wide range of options to over all manner of personal hygiene and appearance issues.

Though modern technology still has yet to solve a number of problems

with personal care, many ancient problems are now easier, safer and cleaner to perform than ever before.

Whether it’s advanced shampoos and conditioners or exotic ingredients for a more vibrant skin tone, there’s no denying that personal hygiene has advanced considerably in the past few decades, let alone the past few centuries.

Whatever one’s problem with their personal appearance, rest assured that the problem is either solvable with the right products or so deep seeded in physiology and genetics that there is little hope.

Let’s talk about waxing…

Another element of modern skin care is the process of waxing. Because hair does not always grow where people want it, removing the hair in those places becomes of paramount importance.

While the legs are the most typical places people want to remove hair from, each person’s personal references will

determine where they want hair and where they don’t. One way to remove hair is the process of waxing it away.

Why is it important to exfoliate before and after waxing?

Exfoliating an area before waxing it is important, both before and after the process of waxing is done. By removing the upper most part of dead skin, the waxing process happens faster, easier and less painfully than it normally would.

Once the pores are cleared up and free of debris, the hair follicles one does not want tend to leave sooner. However, it is also quite important to exfoliate after waxing as well to prevent the blemishes and stains caused by ingrown hairs.

Because the wax is not a perfect substance, it can get caught up in the pores of the skin and clog it up. This can lead to hairs trying to grow over the waxed out areas but being unable to due to the wax clogging it up. From there, the hair grows into an ugly lump that may require surgery to remove.

The process of exfoliation removes this leftover wax before it can block the growth of new hair, preventing ingrown hairs from happening.
